Mahabir Pun received the 2007 Ramon Magsaysay Award for Community Leadership in recognition of his innovative application of wireless computer technology in Nepal and bringing progress to remote mountain communities.

Demos
The 2011 IFIP 9.4 Conference invites submissions in the 'ICT4D Demos' category. Submissions should not exceed ONE A4 page (maximum 500 words) and should contain title of the project, a brief description of the project and reasons for its success. If accepted, at least one of the authors should register for the conference by the registration deadline and be physically present to set up and conduct the demonstration. Demos will be scheduled during the main conference programme.
