The Health Informatics Society of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with Postgraduate Institute of Medicine, University of Colombo, and the IFIP 9.4 Working Group on Social Implications of Computers in Developing countries, sub continent chapter, is pleased to announce a regional conference on "The role of open source software to support public health systems in developing countries" on 3rd and 4th July 2012.
This conference will be held in conjunction with the 125th Annual Scientific Session of the Sri Lanka Medical Association. The aim of the conference will be to bring together researchers and practitioners from the fields on health information systems from developing countries with a focus on the sub continent, to discuss the opportunities and challenges related to the use of open source software. Practical examples of such applications will be especially welcomed.

Call for papers announcement: October 30th 2011
Last date for submission of papers: January 15th, 2012
Comments and feedback to short listed papers: February 29th, 2012
Camera ready papers to be received by April 1st, 2012
